Propaganda reflection

1.  For this assignment we were asked to create a poster, with historical relevance to WW1.  Here at Animas High School, we as students pride ourselves on making beautiful and refined work.  In order to do this we had to learn about the causes of WW1, the weapons used, and which countries were allies and which countries was central power.   We also had to learn about what propaganda is and how it was used during WW1.  We even practiced being able to recognize commonly used propaganda techniques.   After we understood these things, we then moved on to deciding which country we wanted to create a poster for.
2.      Refinement is a big part of any work we do at AHS, so for my analysis I worked on refining the opening sentence, to make it more appealing to the reader.  I also cleared up some of my ideas in my essay.  These changes were made because without them my essay would not have been as good of quality as it is now.  My project on the other hand took a bit more time.   It’s the British flag, surrounded by its three enemy countries, which were Turkey, Hungary, and Germany.  These countries are surrounded by fire, to show that these three countries are out to get Britain.  Each country took about 30 minutes to an hour of changing a refining.  Then when I had all the countries finished I had to put them around the British flag and then refine a little bit more.  I wanted to be proud of my poster, so I needed to make as many revisions and changes that I needed to in order to do this.
3.      I am very happy with my piece.   I think the amount of time I put into my poster and essay are apparent.  I like the flag with the countries on fire especially.  This is because I think i that it is different and very cool looking.  I think it was worth all the time it took.   The thing I enjoyed most about this project was being able to be creative and create something unique.
4.      The main idea I take from this project is that propaganda is something that is always going to affect our opinions on thing,  Whether it be a commercial or who we should vote for in an election, it is very difficult to ignore propaganda.
5.      I really don’t think I would change anything about my poster.  This is because I think that changing anything on it would conclude with me changing something that was fine and messing up the visual appeal on my poster.
